Losing Fear in Our ‘Garden of Life’

Not all fear is negative. Of course we have an inherent capacity of fear, to protect us against potential physical invasion. This is often called ‘the fight or flight’ response. However, this type of fear can also trigger in situations that are not life-threatening. Why? Where does that kind of fear originate? Why do we have a similar reaction to giving a public talk, as we do to jumping out of a plane? It is this fear that I would like to focus on. I’d like to help you to face your fears and not only face them but successfully overcome them. How am I qualified to do this? Because I have overcome my own fears and I have also helped many others overcome theirs. Creativity and being our own unique, authentic self is one of the main ways to overcome fear. How is this the case?

Fear can be a predominant thought. In most cases it is purely a perspective. Our mind can magnify the worst case scenario outcome. However, when we accept and more importantly embrace this thought - there is NO failure, then we can at least loosen fear.

“Of all the liars in the world, sometimes the worst are our own fears.”

Rudyard Kipling

Failure, or more accurately perceived failure, is the precursor to success. Without lessons in life how can we adapt and change? Why is creativity, in its many forms, the key? Because it opens our minds to flow and thereby channels our thoughts away from fear based entrapment. It diverts the dam of fear, it breaks through the blockade of apprehension. In accepting there is no failure, we release from the grip of self suppression.

Make and you won’t break. Others may have an opinion, it may be negative but it is only there opinion! Let me share my experience and I desire this experience to help you open even more to your creative potential.

In my formative years I was painfully shy. Speaking in front of a group of people, let alone singing, made me feel very uncomfortable. Then I got into music and particularly songwriting. The desire to share my creations and creativity began to overtake my fear. However, in the decades that I have shared my music, at times the negative view of a small minority has stopped me. This has even been from very close family members who have tried to undermine my motive. Nevertheless, with deep mindset work, I have now reached a point where I can share even more creativity. My love for what I do and the people I share my creativity with, has overtaken my apprehension.
